Housing Resources Incorporated (HRI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families purchase their own homes. We have earned a proven track record of providing quality home counseling services to prospective low and moderate-income home buyers and have become a trusted leader in assisting hundreds of buyers in purchasing each year.

We are unique among other counseling agencies, because not only do we assist buyers in purchasing homes, we also provide programming and assistance that enables home owners to remain in their homes.

History

In 1989, the founding director, a savings bank executive vice president, other former program managers and clergy, met to consider the feasibility of starting an organization which solely focused on homebuyer education. The other groups in the Milwaukee area provided homebuyer education in addition to housing development. The premise for this new organization was that its focus would be to specialize in a unique niche market of homebuyer education. Housing Resources, Inc. is a minority run agency founded in 1991 to provide home buyer counseling services in the Milwaukee. We extended services to Racine in 2000.
