In 1989, the founding director, a savings bank executive vice president, other former program managers and clergy, met to consider the feasibility of starting an organization which solely focused on homebuyer education. The other groups in the Milwaukee area provided homebuyer education in addition to housing development. The premise for this new organization was that its focus would be to specialize in a unique niche market of homebuyer education. Housing Resources, Inc. is a minority run agency founded in 1991 to provide home buyer counseling services in Milwaukee. We extended services to Racine in 2000.
Housing Resources, Inc. empowers people to live their dream of successful homeownership through education, advocacy and supportive services.
Housing Resources is very fortunate to have a dedicated Board of Directors to lead the agency as we strive to assist families in building wealth through homeownership. The current Board members include: Stephen Elliott (President), Carole Jones (President Emeritus), Julieta Langarica (Treasurer), Joe Bova (Secretary), L. Scott Bush (Vice President), Tamara Maddente (BM), Eliana Williams (BM), Thomas L. Sprewer (BM), Kathy Gentry (BM), and Lemuel Eaton (BM).
